My work place is in central London. Liverpool Street to be precise. I stay in Hounslow West, West london and it takes me one and half hours to reach work :-(
I take a Picadilly Line to King's Cross St. Pancras and from there I take Hammersmith an city line or circle line or metropolitan line train to liverpool street.
I mostly get a place to sit as my work times are little odd and moreover I have to leave one and half hours beforehand while I guess most of the others might be leaving around half an hour before their work starts. I usually wait for the tube in the far end where the driver sits because the carriage adjacent to the driver is always almost empty and I get a place to sit :-). Sometimes I wonder why dosent every one come and stand there when they all know that there will always be plenty of space in the first carriage. I have sometimes seen the platform fully crowded and could still see only a few people standing near the place where the first carriage stops. I guess they migt not be travelling very far distances or would be decent enough to give that space for the people who cant stand for a long time.
I have 3 shifts and the first starts at 7 in the morning and hence I have to start at 5:30 from my home and hence I have to get up at 4. In the morning most of the people are half asleep while waiting for the tube and once they enter the tube they are fully asleep. I can see mostly Indians, Pakistanis, Polish and other European, Srilankan, Somalians etc waiting for the tube while starting my Journey as Hounslow is a mixture of these people. There are hardly any Britons here. Its a mix of people who have been born and brought up here and that of people who have come to the UK a few months/ years ago. You can make out by the dressing style, makeup, accent etc.
Sorry but I remembered this suddenly. Once when I was waiting on the platform I saw 3 guys waiting in the mid section of the platform and they were 2 white guys and an Indian guy. They were having fun when suddenly the tube approached the platform and on seeing this the Indian guy suddenly walked to the edge of the platform turned his back towards the tracks spread his hands !! It was exactly like the scubadivers, facing away from the pool before diving into the pool. On seeing this the driver got scared and peeped out of the window and waved at this guy to move away as the train approached towards the platform. The guy moved away when the train was just a few feets away from him. When the train stopped The driver warned the guy using her mic :-)
Got to go now will write about rest of my journey later.

I saw a interesting thing while I was coming back from work on a tube. A guy had a bunch of pampletes and was writing something on them for a long time.
He got down some stations before I reached mine. He left the pampletes behind. I was curious to see what it was and picked the bunch and saw that he had drew some sketches on they. that were alright. Then I looked at what the pampletes were actually about. They were some kind of London underground forms where people who have travelled via tube could claim cash if the tube got delayed for more than 15 minutes !! Pretty cool isnt it ? Well I dont think there are any such facilities from the place i come from and so thought of mentioning it here.

This was written on the first page of the form:
